Downpayment & IDA Downpayment Assistance
Homebuyer downpayment assistance is available for eligible applicants in Denver county through two sources of funding. NEWSED is able to leverage financial assistance though the City and County of Denver and the NSP program as described in the Housing Development section. To see if you qualify for downpayment funds make an appointment with a counselor by calling 303-534-8342 x 124 or email Mercedes Fuentes at mercedesfuentes@newsed.org
Individual Development Accounts (IDA) Individual Development Accounts, also known as “IDAs”, are savings accounts. What makes an IDA special is its unique deposit and saving method. It is called a match and it is usually one to four times the size of each deposit you make. For example, if you receive a 4:1 match, each time you deposit $25, you will get an additional $100 toward your savings goal. NEWSED CDC and Mile High United Way have partnered to assist those participants whose goal is to purchase a home.
