Kentucky Association for Community Action

Community Action Kentucky operates the Non-Profit Housing Production and Repair Program (NHPR) under start up funds provided by the Kentucky Housing Corporation. This program was launched in 1997. It will set aside a limited amount of seed money each year for projects undertaken by Community Action Agencies to build new units, rehabilitate existing ones, or provide down payment assistance to low-income households.

For the 2007-2008 program year, five Community Action Agencies have applied to participate. The program encourages nonprofits to use a variety of different funding sources to build new units of affordable and safe housing or rehabilitate existing housing for low-income citizens in Kentucky.

Several Community Action Agencies throughout the state are also involved in additional Housing programs which include but are not limited to :

HUD Supportive Housing Program
HUD Affordable Housing Preservation Program
HUD Assisted Living Program
HUD Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly Program
HUD Section 8 Assistance for Public Housing Relocation/Replacement
Homeless Assistance Programs including the HUD Shelter Plus Care Program (S C)
